PURASAVAKKAM

Purasavakkam, a small locality in the city of Chennai, falls in the northern premises. Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu state abodes a number of important places. Purasavakkam in Chennai constitutes one of the many residential areas and as such features a number of colonies. In a literal sense the place does not contain any monuments or architectural wonders. However, as an integral part of the city, the place bears the same impressions as the rest of the parts.

Purrasavakkam is inhabited by a population who are topographically scattered into various colonies. Some known places in the region include those of T.N.H.B.(Tamil Nadu Housing Board) Colony, A.K.Swamy Nagar, Secretariat Colony, Perumalpet and Kusapet.

The periphery of Purasavakkam is limited by the nearby roads. On the eastern side we have Perambur Barracks Road, the western frontiers are lined with Medavakkam Tank Road. The northern and southern premises are limited by Strahans Road and Periyar Salai. The entire region looks very much like an island that is separated by a network of roads.

Thana Street one of the busiest streets in Chennai is the heart of Purasaiwalkam. Thana Street is famous for its Jeweleries and pharmacies. Thana Street also comprises a grocery market which is kept busy throughout§ the day.

Abirami Mega Mall is one of the main attractions in Purasaiwalkam, which is a cineplex. It comprises four main theaters and many shopping outlets.
