Motor vehicles’ RC to be issued on the same day.

Effective from Monday Regional Transport Offices across Tamilnadu will issue Registration Certificates [RC] and vehicle permits on the same of the application. The rule will be applicable to all transport as well as non transport vehicles. A Circular to that effect has been issued to all the 61 RTOs in Tamilnadu. Thus the processing time is reduced to one working day. The new regulation is expected to bring more transparency in the system. As per the new regulations the RC book will be sent by registered post on the same day if the applicant fails to turn up to collect the same at the end of the working day.
