Akshaya Duchess All Women Car Rally 2014 on 3rd August

The 13th edition of the Akshaya Duchess All Women Car Rally 2014 is set to be flagged off on 3 August from Savera Hotels here.
Member of the Duchess Club and joint managing director of Savera Hotels Nina Reddy said, `Over the last couple of years we have had different themes such as `Retro` and `Go Green`, this year the theme is `Best Friends Forever.`
She said `this year we have a special category for family as we want the husbands and family members to also to get involved.` The Duchess Club aims to get more than 100 cars and the event will be run on Time/Distance/Speed (TDS format) and will cover a distance of about 80-90kms finishing at Akshaya Metropolis, Maramalainagar.
The event is open for cars of all engine capacities and categories including diesel cars and jeeps. The maximum number in each car is four. The rally will be held in six categories-experts, regular, novice, duchess, family and Audi.
GM Operations, Madras Motor Sports Club, Amit Arora, who is part of the organising team said, `There are a set of rules to be followed and we are promoting people to plan and stick to the plan. There are penalties given to drivers who rush or drive fast.`
Entry fee per car is Rs.1,000. The briefing session will be held at 4 pm on 2 August at Hotel Savera.
