Chennai metro rail Project: stations to be ready by October!

CMRL (Chennai Metro Rail Limited) officials are confident that seven stations from Koyambedu to Alandur (Azhar Khana) would be finished by October. It is learnt that all but a couple of skywalks at Koyambedu and Ashok Pillar stations would be completed then.
Erection of lifts and escalators among other infrastructure required for easing traveller’s mobility inside the station are almost ready. The smart cards have arrived. Works are apace to make them operational for the launch of the commercial run.
Also, expect little interface with metro officials during the commercial run. CMRL has planned to install automatic ticket vending machines in all the seven stations. CMRL staff would also be available to assist travellers operate the vending machines for a while.
A few counters would be opened to assist travellers in the stations.
