In spite of heavy downpour, jostling crowd in T Nagar – Deepavali purchase!

Deepavali falls on 22nd October. With the festive occasion, people of all ages including elders, children, the home-makers, and the breadwinners of the family are on a buying spree – new cloths of endless variety, crackers, sweets, and so on!
With only 2 days left for Deepavali, people in large numbers are braving the heavy rains with umbrellas. There huge crowds out for shopping in T Nagar despite the heavy downpour.
Pavement sellers are also showing keen business interest and put up their shops even in the rain.
People were thronging shops in other areas of the city such as Purasaiwakam.
CCTVs have been installed in the busiest shopping area T Nagar and the crowd movements are being closely monitored.
Large number of police has also been deployed in the shopping areas.
