All Tamil Nadu government schools should also have English as medium of teaching

The Director of School Educations has emphasized that all secondary and higher secondary schools should make English as the medium of teaching. It has been stipulated that the English medium of teaching should be introduced in the 6th standard this year. In the year 2012-13, English classes were introduced in 6th standard in 165 high schools and higher secondary schools in the rural areas to enhance the English language. In the year 2013-14, English was introduced in 1048 schools and in the year 2014-15, it was introduced in 1485 schools. Now in this current year officials say that there will be a phenomenal increase.
