Grand Divine Marriage Ceremony at Chennai Siruvapuri Temple

A grand Divine Marriage Ceremony will be performed at the Lord Muruga Temple located at Siruvapuri lying 35 km away on the road from Chennai to Gummidipoondi on Sunday, 6th September.
There is a strong traditional belief that eligible & unmarried men and women who visit the temple and pray for 6 continuous Tuesdays will benefit with their marriages getting arranged.
Annamalaiyar Spiritual Prayer Association organises the Divine Marriage of Lord Muruga & His Consort Sri Valli at Siruvapuri every year for the benefit of those who cannot visit the temple for 6 continuous Tuesdays.
For the unmarried and eligible male devotees who participate and pray on this occasion, a special `Sri Valli` garland will be given. Similarly, for the unmarried and eligible females who participated on this divine marriage occasion, Lord Muruga garland will be given.
The couples who got married after last year`s Divine Marriage Festival should visit the temple as husband and wife at 4.00 PM on 4th September.
The couple should take a pradakshina (a round along the main corridor of the temple surrounding the sanctum sanctorum) after picking up the offerings kept for Lord Muruga & Sri Valli and offer their prayer and gratitude for fulfilling their wishes for marriage.
The devotees who wish to participate on this grand occasion should arrive at Siruvapuri by the morning on 6th September.No prior reservation or registration is required.
Special Abhishekhams will be performed on the deities of Lord Vinayaka, Lord Ahimoolavar, Lord Annamalaiyar, and Sri Amman at 6.00 AM on 6th September.
Abhiskhekham for the main deity of the temple will be performed at 6.30 AM.Abhishkekham for Lord Valli Manavala Peruman will be performed at 9.00 AM.
The Divine marriage will be performed at 10.00 AM.At 11.00 AM, the deity will be taken out.Marriage feast is scheduled at 12.00 Noon.
