Advance Bus Ticket Booking For Diwali is on

This year, the festival of lights, Diwali falls to be on the 10th of November (Tuesday). All those who are planning to head back to their hometown prefer train or bus travel and the advance booking is on now. Almost all seats in trains are filled now and they are in look out for special trains for their travel.
They wish to have special trains that head to southern districts in particular. Amidst these, the advance booking for Express buses from State Transport has now begun. With these buses, facilities are made available for the people to book their tickets well before 60 days of the date of journey. Ticket booking can be done through www.tnstc.in. On the other hand, direct booking can be done at Koyambedu bus terminus, Chennai.
There are about 450 express state transport buses that leave Koyambedu each and every day. Ticket bookings for these long distant buses are currently on.
Excerpts from hints given by officials at the state transport department:
In general, people prefer traveling in trains. When all the train tickets are fully filled, they take a slew and choose to travel by bus. Hence, advance booking for buses has not yet started in full swing. We expect this to gather pace by the end of this month. However, all the necessary facilities for advance bus ticket booking is made from our end and steps are taken for making these buses available.
We will ensure that all the bus facilities to and fro Chennai are made available. As of now, there are 1300 buses. These buses will be made available during Diwali season. Apart from these, buses of other transport corporation will also be available.
