LPG cooking gas cylinder distribution in suburban areas affected due to inundation of rain-water

Supply and distribution of LPG cooking gas cylinders were severely affected due to heavy rains in the suburban areas of Chennai Metro City.
Gas cylinders could not be delivered in some areas like Velachery, Taramani, Mylapore, Madavalli, Adyar, Choolai, Vepery, Perambur, Puliyanthope, and Villivakkam.
As the roads through which the 3-wheeler cycles carrying the LPG cooking gas cylinders were completely inundated with water and also several houses affected by the floods of rain-water, the LPG cooking gas cylinders could not be delivered proper.
A manager of a gas agency located in Poonamallee High Road informed that the distribution of LPG cylinders to rain-affected and water-inundated areas was severely affected. Because of this, over 1000 cylinders have got stuck at the agents depots. Delivery of LPG cooking cylinders booked during the last 5 days is delayed.
As the agents are not in apposition to supply those who have booked as per the registered date, distribution is being done after registering again on a different date. Normalcy is expected to be restored in a few days.
