Actor Ajith is believed to have housed and provided amenities to 180 people affected by the floods. Although there has been no official confirmation, he is also believed to have donated Rs. 1 crore to the Chief Minister`s Relief Fund. Social media had shared pictures of Shalini Ajith distributing food to the flood affected, but the rest of the philanthropy has been done with no media coverage.
Another actor who has contributed Rs. 1 crore us Raghavendra Lawrence. Unconfirmed reports also claim that Vijay may contribute Rs. 5 crore. Many celebrities such as Kishore, Sitaram, Mayilsamy and Imman have also been working as volunteers.
