Bharath University introduces Hospitality & Tourism Management degree Programmes

Bharath University, in an attempt to bridge the increasing demand in the hospitality sector, has introduced three new courses in Hotel Management & Catering Science. These courses will be conducted by the Bharath Research School of Tourism & Hospitality (BRSTH). With an aim to provide quality training to the students in the hospitality sector, the courses will be offered starting this academic year.  

BRSTH is one of the leading hospitality Institutes in South India. BRSTH operates in association with Accord Metropolitan Hotel, Chennai. Besides getting practical exposure, students will also get a chance to work as part-time employees at the affiliated hotels. BRSTH also collaborates with foreign universities through (CTH) Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality.
 
The courses offered are:

Diploma in Hotel Management @ Catering Administration -SSLC -3Years
B. Sc. Hospitality & Tourism Management- HSC-3Years
MBA Hospitality & Tourism Management -Any UG-2Years

Commenting on this, Dr. R. Kari Thangaratnam, Principal, Bharath Institute of Science & Technology said, “There is a huge demand for holistic hotel management courses in the country. Today, the hospitality sector’s expectations from graduates have considerably risen and just a degree or certification is no longer the only criteria, the industry demands more! These new course are aimed at providing hospitality education at par with international standard.”

The new courses offered also have job prospects both in India and abroad. Within the industry, there are plenty of openings in sections like front office, general operations, sales and marketing, food and beverage, service keeping and catering.
