Jaya to distribute 9 lakh lap tops on Sep 15

Chief Minister Jayalalitha will be distributes over 9 lakh lap tops to school and college students on September 12th as part of keeping her election promises. This is the first phase and the remaining students would get this benefit in later months.
The government has announced an open international tender for this on Friday.
Companies interested in this deal can submit their model laptops to ELCOT the Electronics Corporation OF Tamilnadu Limited.
This includes 10 lakh students in 10th standard and 7.5 lakh students in 12th standard. Apart from this college students will also be getting free laptops.
The last date to apply for this tender is July 11th 2011.
