Tamil Directors associaiton election results

Bharathiraja was today elected as the president and Ameer as general secretary to the Tamil Film Directors Association, respectively. Out of the total 1279 votes polled, Bharathiraja secured 1003 and Ameer got 901.
Directors Cheran and Samuthirakani have been elected as vice-presidents and S P Jananathan as treasurer unanimously.
Elections to directors union was held on Sunday at the Film Musician’s Union building in Vadapalani. As many as 1,229 members of the more than 2000-member union exercised their franchise. A total of 48 persons contested for 21 posts from two groups – the United Directors Team and the Pudhiya Alai.
