Indian Railway: Plan to close pantry cars in trains and to increase the facility of e-catering

Indian Railway has planned to close the pantry car systems and increase the e-catering facility.

Currently, there are 45 railway stations in the country with the facility ordering food through e-catering services.

Indian railway has planned to extend this facility in 408 important Railway Stations.

Passengers ordering will have to dial 1323 from their mobile phones. 

Payment can be made when the food ordered is delivered.Or. the new App Food on track can be used on Android & iPhones to order food.

The website: ecatering.irctc.co.in can be visited and sms can be sent after registering the PNR number and Seat Number.

State Minister for Railways, Mr. Manoj Sinha informed that 4969 complaints have been received regarding catering services during the year 2015 alone.
