Swathi had been stalked a couple of times, sources

After a period without any clue about Swathi’s assassin, the city police is now taking steps to take measures in the case.

According to an eyewitness, the senior officer who is involved in the investigation said that the suspect has neither got into any conversation nor any argument with Swathi. He has come with the only motive of murdering her. This information that claims him not to have had any conversation indicates that he is a complete stranger to Swathi.

On looking at the CCTV footage, the suspect is seen entering the premises at 06.30 am and exiting at 06.42 am spending hardly 11 minutes. This perhaps is the time for the suspect to walk in and out of the crime scene. He might have spent about two to three minutes for the victim to arrive, said the officer. He seems to have carried a sickle with a wooden handle. This is sent to the forensic department to analyze. The officer also affirmed that the suspect on the CCTV footage is the assassin, and he says the same based on the confirmation by an eyewitness.

A few inputs received on Wednesday are also being perused. A caller had informed that the suspect was seen in the same train that of Swathi’s a couple of times earlier. There is also a CCTV clipping resembling the suspect and stalking the victim at some suburban railway stations.

There are CCTV surveillance cameras in Chennai Beach, Chennai Egmore, Mambalam and Tambaram; however, these visuals might have got shot at Tambaram or Mambalam, according to sources.
