Heavy rains expected in inner districts

Due to convection rains are expected today in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagai, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Nellai, Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari districts.
There will be rains or thundershowers in many places of the inner districts including Karur, Villupuram, Theni, Tiruvannamalai and Krishnagiri districts. Heavy rains are expected in few places.
Gale winds speed reaching 45-55 kmph would prevail along and off Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts. Fishermen are warned not to venture into sea.
