Lyricist Vairamuthus statement puts an end to the debate about the film Kabali

Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film Kabali has been released recently and running successfully in theatres all over the world.
It is reported that the film collection has exceeded Rs. 200 Crores.However, Lyricist Vairamuthu’s speech during the inaugural function of a book release indicating that Kabali was a failure led to a strong debate.
To end this debate, Vairamuthu has issued a press statement:
Accepting God is one aspect. Understanding God is another aspect. So, even while not accepting God, I could understand the psychological requirements. When I attempted to explain this, in emotional strain, I had mentioned about man-woman relationships, wedded life, love, affection, and tears, politics. Arts, the fate of the missing IAF plane, and failure of Kabali should all be understood and appreciated, though they may not be accepted.I only realised that I had skipped a word in my statement only later. I just wanted to mention the news of Kabali’s success or failure should be understood though not accepted. However, I skipped the one-word success and mentioned only the failure. So, the word success got missed.
My objective is not at all to denigrate the superstar who I hold in great esteem and affection. However, my conscience is clear. Maybe, I missed just a word – I request everyone to appreciate this and now read it in correct perspective.
Actually, I contacted Rajinikanth as soon he returned to Chennai from the US and informed about this even before this came in print. He also confirmed magnanimously that some of the friends had indeed mistaken. Our friendship is extremely valuable. I request that this debate may be stopped.
