Anna University: supplementary counselling for the vacant seats in Engineering Colleges

The counselling sessions for joining engineering courses were completed a few days ago. More than 1 Lakh seats remained unfilled.
It has now been announced that applications are invited for supplementary counselling meant for filling up the vacant 1 Lakh seats for engineering courses.
The counselling for the government quota seats for joining engineering courses completed on 21st July.
84352 seats were filled. 101318 seats remained. The counselling for the Industrial Education Course students was conducted on 23rd and 24th July. 1501 seats got filled. 5022 seats remained.Thus, there are 106340 seats unfilled.
In order to fill these remaining seats, supplementary counselling is conducted from today (Wednesday, 27th July). Anna University has announced that interested applicants should come personally and apply for the supplementary counselling from 9.00 AM till 5.30 PM. As announced by the Secretary of Engineering Counselling, Ms Indhumathi, the students who have passed in the +2 supplementary examinations and the students who got reservation quota in the earlier counselling sessions can participate.

However, since Anna University has not mentioned in its advertisement that applications should be submitted for supplementary counselling in its advertisement, the students are confused.
The students have appealed for an additional day’s time and confer them seats when they appear in person (without applying) on the date of supplementary counselling.
