Director of Matriculation Schools: Order regarding Compulsory Education system

Matriculation Schools Directorate has ordered that students can be admitted till 30th November under the Compulsory Education Act.

As per the Compulsory Education Act legislated by the Tamil Nadu government in 2009, all students under the age of 14 must be given compulsory education. As per another regulation in this Act, all students belonging to the economically backward section in the society should be admitted in the 25 percent free quota in the class of LKG in most schools and 1st Standard in all matriculation schools.

As per this order, in the current academic year, 89000 students have been admitted in 8000 nursery, primary, and matriculation schools. Also, more parents have approached for admission of their children. However, the school administration send them back informing the admission period is over.

May complaints regarding this issue have been received by the Matriculation School Directorate. So, director Karuppasamy has ordered that students ca be admitted till 30th November under the Compulsory Education Act.
