Anna University - Question paper format for engineering course to be changed

550 Engineering Colleges under the control of Anna University have been functioning on the approval from All India National Education Council. Out of this 550 colleges, except for 13 self-administered colleges, other follow the syllabus and examination procedure as prescribed by Anna University.

The university officials conducted a study on the issue that many B.E and B.Tech students are still jobless after passing the course. At the end of the study, it was decided to bring in some changes in the examination correction procedure.

As pr this, for associate colleges following 2013 syllabus, question paper formats have been changed for 170 subjects. In the original format, there were 20 questions with 2 marks each and 5 questions with 16 marks each.

In the changed procedure, the question paper for the 2nd year students will have 10 questions (compulsory) with 2 marks each 5 questions (compulsory to attempt one question out of 2 asked) with 13 marks each. In addition, there will be a question of 15 marks, a case study where the student will have to read and analyse

Anna University’s examination board has ordered the colleges to follow the new format to prepare the students in a better way.
