Films in pipeline for Diwali release

There are a number of films lined up for release in the following two months in Kollywood. This being the scenario, for the upcoming Diwali season, there is going to be three releases for Diwali this year.
During last week, the first look posters of Karthi starrer Kashmora made rounds in the web. The film is directed by Gokul. It attracted a lot of interest for its setting that shows the hero being in the battlefield.
Nayanthara, Vivek and Sri Divya are other stars present in the movie. This is a period film comprising horror, comedy and action, and has Karthi playing three different looks.
Kashmora will get released along with Dhanush starrer Kodi and Vishal’s Kathi Sandai all of which are films awaiting Diwali release.
In his recent tweet, Dhanush has stated the release date of Thodari to be in September. This film will have Dhanush in dual roles. Durai Senthilkumar has directed the film and the female lead here is played by Trisha. Dhanush has himself produced the film. It is of political drama genre. This is for the very first time that Dhanush and Trisha are acting together. Music composition is by Santhosh Narayan for Kashmora as well as Kodi.
Following the decent success of Santhanam’s Dhillukku Dhuddu, he is now set to roll out his next venture which is yet again in comedy genre. After giving Kanna Laddoo Thinna Aasaya, director Manikandan is set to direct the comedian turned hero now.
Shoot will kick-start in October. The movie crew has already finalized the heroine, title, and others. Vasan’s Visual Ventures that bankrolled Boss Engira Baskaran and Naan Kadavul is producing this film too. To note, the same banner is introducing Kalidas Jayaram, son of Jayaram in the film Oru Pakka Kadhai. Santhanam is at present working on Server Sundaram under Anan Balki’s direction.
