IBS Software, on Thursday, launched iTravel, a unified selling and production technology platform. This is likely to go live in the following year. IBS, having its headquarters at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, and into travel, transportation and logistics IT solution, has already joined hands with top players in the same sector worth Rs 250 crore ($40 million).

The Executive Chairman of IBS Group, V.K. Mathews, while addressing the reporters said their new platform, iTravel will bring a complete changeover in travel industry. This comes as four different variants each of which are for hospitality firms, cruise liners, tour operators, and airlines. This next generation platform is promising enough to revolutionize travel business. Digital sourcing of products and services from various travel partners, packaging them and offering to travelers using digital mode like laptop or smartphone is the idea here, said Mathew.

Users can see increase in profit by including third party agencies. There are avenues for cross-selling, up selling and ancillary sales which altogether will drive incremental revenues.

So far, out of the forty leading airlines, tour operators and hospitalities, twenty of them have got into tie-up with us. We have been working on this for the past  three years involving the collective effort of 400 dedicated R&D professions present at ten of our global offices. It is likely that the platform will have an estimated value of $4 billion and to note, this is first of its kind.

During the Aviation Core Group of Influence Summit at London that is set to take place next month, and during the Hospitality Summit to be held at the US in the month of October, the product showcase will take place. About 3000 employees are at present working with the firm.
