Panicking road accidents in India

Indian roads have always been known for highest fatalities in the world. Worsening the scenario, since 2015, the status is turning more dangerous with more number of deaths accounting to 5 percent, reaching up to 1.46 lakh. About 400 deaths are observed each and every day, or one snuff out for every 3.6 minutes. This is an alerting situation to the government that is focusing on reducing road fatalities within 2020. A 50 percent reduction in fatality is rate is to be achieved.
 
The maximum number of accidents and road deaths are observed in Uttar Pradesh. The following states are Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Rajasthan. The cause for eight out of ten such road accidents are by the drivers. Out of this, 62 percent are due to over speeding. 1374 accidents take place every day. In the year 2014, there were a total of 4,89,400 road accidents, and in 2015, it was 5,01,423. About 4,93,474 individuals were injured in these road accidents in 2014 and 5,00,279 were injured in 2015. On a daily basis, about 400 road deaths take place.
