A decision to reduce the number of visitors to Taj Mahal

The number of visitors to one of the seven wonders of the world and a monument of true love has been increasing each passing day.

Because of this, the structure, as well as the beauty of the monument, has been affected greatly.

Following this, a decision has been taken to reduce the number of visitors to Taj Mahal.

Earlier, during the year 2012, The Supreme Court had ordered to regulate the number of visitors to Taj Mahal. The Archaeological Council took several measures for this.

Because of this, there was some reduction in the number of visitors to Taj Mahal.

7.34 Lakh foreigners enjoyed visiting Taj Mahal in the year 2012.In the year 2013, this reduced to 6.95 Lakhs.In the year 2014, there were 6.48 Lakh visitors to Taj Mahal.

An entrance fee of Rs. 1000/- is charged for the foreigners for visiting the Taj Mahal. Indians have to pay Rs. 40/-.

However, the number of domestic visitors has not reduced.The Archaeological Council has plans to reduce this as well.
