Keeping its competence up against Reliance Jio`s latest offers, Bharti Airtel has brought down rates of 3G and 4G by up to 80 percent. Under its new special scheme, a GB of internet data will be priced just Rs 51.

Airtel users should recharge for Rs 1498 for which they will get 1GB of 4G data or 3G data. This will be valid for 28 days, says a recent statement by Airtel.

Once this data limit gets exhausted, customers will be able to get 1 GB data in 3G or 4G at Rs 51 for up to 12 months. They can recharge for the 1GB data pack for as many times as they want during this one year period.

The same 3G or 4G pack on Airtel valid for 28 days is now priced Rs 259. There is one more variation in this slashed rate internet scheme. Customers need to recharge for Rs 748 and they will be able to enjoy 1GB data for Rs 99 for up to 6 months period.

Now, these schemes are available in Delhi. It will soon get launched in other circles within end of this month, an official statement by Airtel says.

Ajay Puri, the director of operations, Bharti Airtel stated that the company intends redefining value proposition and let their customers free to enjoy more internet for the same rate.

In July, the telecom provider started offering 67 percent mobile data for all of its existing 3G and 4G customers. Idea Cellular and Vodafone followed Airtel in this regard. Under its new plan for Rs 1199, Airtel gave out voice calling for free even while in roaming. This is inclusive of 1GB data in 3G or 4G.

Telecom players like Airtel, Idea, etc have started rolling out offers on mobile data, following the commercial launch by Reliance Jio. On this network, there are about 1.5 million test users, the company says.
