According to a global consulting firm, the data tariff in India is pretty high. It also invites to a 75 percent cut down on the same. The average tariff in India is considerably higher as compared to that of developed nations, claims Analysys Mason.

The tariff for 1 GB data pack of Gross National Income per capita is 2.6 percent at present. The same is 0.4 to 0.5 percent with developed nations. This means that about 2.6 percent of the annual income is spent for an Indian to enjoy 1 GB data every month. This is comparatively way higher when the money spent by other nations is just 0.2 to 0.4 percent.

According to what Analysys Mason study states, about 75 percent of data tariff need to be cut down in order to increase the user base up to 645-667 million SIMs, and the monthly data usage up to the range 4.2 to 4.3 GB in the year 2019-20. At the same time, the telecom providers will not be ready to lose out by reducing tariffs.

This study is conducted as there prevails a price war among the telecom operators here. The Reliance Jio has recently invested @21 billion for the telecom venture. Now, it is planning for the next commercial launch. This study has not hinted about any specific telecom operator in India, but claims that there has been rapid improvement in the 3G capacity in the country such that there is excessive demand for 4G. The new entrant in the market needs to be thanked.

In terms of network availability, the behavioral patterns of consumers may get subjected to change with the excessive availability of 4G, because subscribers can have broadband networks at better increased speed with 4G.
