Sudha Raghunathan gets Annamalai Chettiar award

Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar Birthday Commemoration Award for 2011 was presented to noted vocalist Sudha Raghunathan at a function here on Friday. The award carried a citation, a plaque and a cash purse of Rs.1 lakh.
The award marks the occasion of the 131st birth anniversary celebrations of Dr Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar of Chettinad.
Dr M A M Ramaswamy, pro-chancellor of Annamalai University and patron of Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar Memorial Trust, M A M R Muthiah, president of the trust and Dr T Gnana Sundaram, former Tamil professor of Pachaiyappa’s College spoke on the occasion.
The speakers hailed Dr Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar’s philanthropy.
