Do you count the number of Likes on Facebook?

How many of you count the number of likes received on Facebook for the posts you have made? If you are one among those who do so, you probably do not have any sense of purpose in life.
The study claims that those living with a sense of purpose in life do not get bothered by the thumbs up they receive on the social media. This sense of purpose they have allows them to skim through the virtual feedback with rigid and persistent mind. They are not bothered by the total number of likes, says Anthony Burrow, the Assistant Professor, Cornell University, New York.
By the term sense of purpose, researchers mean one’s own motivation towards future, and the self-directed orientation. Though it is good to receive comments and compliments from others online or by other means, this should not decide one’s self esteem. An individual will feel down and with low self-esteem and be bothered about what others think about them.
At the same time, those who live with a purpose observed the positive feedbacks they receive, but do not really depend on it to have a positive impression about themselves. Such people who are purposeful know who they are and act according to their goals.
