50 free Wi-Fi spots and free internet for students, Jaya orders

Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha ordered to set up free Amma WiFi zones in over 50 places across the state apart from providing free internet access to all college and higher secondary students.
 
A press release issued for the same has stated that this is one of the moves made to set up free Wi-Fi zones, keeping up the announcements Jaya has made in her election manifesto. She has now ordered to set up Amma Wi-Fi spots in over fifty spots. This includes bus terminuses, commercial buildings, parks, and more.
 
At the same time, students studying in colleges and higher secondary classes can also enjoy free internet access, as per promises made during the election. To start with the scheme, 50 schools will be encompassed at a budget of Rs 10 crore.
 
An integrated IT complex will be erected at a 2 lakh square feet area at Electronic Corporation of Tamil Nadu Special Economic Zone, Sholinganallur. This will be executed at Rs 80 crore, according to one other release. Exports made by the Special Economic Zone accounts to 25 percent equal to Rs 16,536 crore.
 
About 650 permanent centres for accessing government services will also be set up at Rs 25 crore. This will be handled by the TN e-governance agency.
