GCC Commissioner: All schools - Private and government should hand over premises to GCC

The Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner Prakash has ordered that all private and government schools functioning in areas under the jurisdiction of GCC must hand over their premises to GCC. This is for coronavirus prevention activities.

This bold decision was taken during the meeting, GCC Commissioner had with the IAS officers.

In Chennai Metro City, the number of coronavirus affected has increased to 906.

On a single day on 30th April, as many as 138 persons have been confirmed with coronavirus infection! This has sent shock waves among the public!

Coronavirus spreading has increased every day in Chennai Metro City.

In this situation, with the lockdown imposition set to conclude on 3rd May, the public has become quite anxious about this!

To be more specific, over the last few days, more than 100 persons each day have been confirmed with coronavirus infection!

With this alarming trend, GCC Commissioner Prakash held an emergency meeting with all the district collectors. After this meeting, GCC Commissioner has released a notification:

An order has been placed to hand over the premises of all private and government schools to GCC before 2nd May. Both the government and private sector schools must be with all the basic facilities and be ready. Greater Chennai Corporation is preparing to undertake further coronavirus prevention activities.

This decision has been taken as each school can accommodate 1200 coronavirus patients,

The Commissioner has instructed the officials to work with full effort to bring down the infection rate. This coronavirus pandemic MUST be brought under control WITHIN 10 DAYS!

The zone-wise appointed officials MUST WORK with ADDITIONAL EFFORT. They should create awareness among the public about regularly washing hands and keeping social distancing.

Further, as regards Chennai Metro City, with the increased impact of the coronavirus pandemic, with all hospitals fully engaged accommodating more beds and related facilities, the school premises might be used for accommodating the above additional facilities as well as the staff of the department of health.

Robot to be used for monitoring?

It has been decided to employ robots to monitor the patients in Chennai Metro City! Robots will be used for the monitoring of areas where the police cannnnot go in! A private company has made a mobile robot for the Chennai Police.
