New Coronavirus screening centres in Chennai

Many people visit government hospitals in Chennai to get screened for Coronavirus and this has led to huge crowds at the hospitals.
It is now revealed that GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation has set up screening centres at 4 places in Chennai. By this, the crowds at the government hospitals would be reduced.
The point is those who test positive for Coronavirus would be taken to these screening centres instead of the hospitals. After the test results get released, the Corona virus-positive patients would be screened for the symptoms at the screening centres.
Asymptomatic patients would be sent to Covid-19 care centres or home isolation. It must be taken into note that those patients with co-morbid conditions or severe symptoms would be taken to hospitals. This was according to an official belonging to the Chennai Corporation.
Information collected is 2 screening centres of GCC are present in north Chennai and one in south Chennai and one in central Chennai. The waiting time has been reduced now and this was as per an official.
It must be remembered that earlier the field level officials of the civic body took Coronavirus, positive patients, to the hospitals and that made the admission very tedious. As a result, some patients became restless and they started roaming inside the hospital premises.
It is now known that the civic body had devised a case tracking and referral plan to treat Covid-19 patients. The civic body has also directed the field level officers to inspect the houses of asymptomatic patients.
