Ban extended on religious and political events in TN till further orders

On Thursday, 12th November 2020, TN government revoked its order permitting religious meetings, social, cultural, academic, political and other functions etc in TN. It is said that this ban would be there until further orders. It must be noted that on 31st October, order was issued under the Disaster Management Act 2005 and it permitted gatherings attended by not more than 100 persons from 16th of November.
The release from the government mentioned that the permission is now revoked and the ban would remain until further orders. It is known that the government denied permission for the ‘Vetrivel yatra’ of BJP for covid-19 pandemic.
