Sudden increase in the prices of flowers in the Koyambedu market in Chennai now!!

On the occasion of the Pongal festival on 15th January, the prices of flowers have doubled at the Koyambedu based flower market.
It must be noted that the day before yesterday a kilo of jasmine flowers was sold for Rs 2300 and ice jasmine for Rs 1800. In the same way, one kilo of jathi malli was sold for Rs 900, mullai for Rs 1200, kanakambaram for Rs 1000, kattumalli for Rs400. At the Koyambedu flower market, one kilo of arali flower was sold for Rs 350, paneer rose for Rs 140, sampangi for Rs 250, samanthi poo for Rs 100 and chocolate rose for Rs 600 etc.
As the pongal festival has come very close now, yesterday a kilo of jasmine was sold for Rs 3000, ice jasmine for Rs 2400, jathimalli for Rs 2500, mullai for Rs 1500, kanakambaram for Rs 1000 etc. One kilo of arali poo was sold for Rs 200, marigold Rs 100, sambangi Rs 120, paneer rose for Rs 130 and chocolate rose for Rs 150.
