Diwali festival might be far away, but there is some exciting news now from the telecom giant Vodafone Idea for its customers.
According to Vodafone Idea company CEO Akshaya Moondra it was clear that 5G would be rolled out in another 6 months that is around diwali. The announcement was made by the CEO during a post-Q4 conference call. Information gathered is that in those areas where there is high concentration of devices roll out would be primarily focussed.
Advanced trials conducted:
It is learnt that Vodafone Idea has been conducting advanced trials for open RAN and vRAN technologies and this would be as a part of the 5G roll out plan. The minimum rollout obligation has been met by this famous telecommunication company already in 4 circles. Bihar as well as Mumbai circles would be involved soon. For its 5G roll out plan, Vodafone Idea is involved in discussions with tech partners.
It must be taken into account that currently Nokia powers Vodafone 4G in 9 circles and Ericsson does it in 8 circles. In 7 circles, Huawei and in 5 circles ZTE technology is used. In the next 24 to 30 months, Vodafone Idea plans to cover 40% of its revenue base.
