Termination of Aadhaar based verification system for telecom operators

The latest update from Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) mentioned the new KYC-Know Your Customer process is completed for the verification of customers. Around 85 percent of verification across the nation is replaced with the new e-KYC system.
COAI reported to the press that the usage of Aadhaar based verification system will be stopped within a day or two. There are some exceptions with rural areas still under the process of converting the verification to new e-KYC system without any information leakages as per the Supreme Court’s order based on Aadhaar verification.
All the telecom operators of the country has informed the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) about the need of more time to exit the Aadhaar based process with the replacement infrastructure all around the nation. The deadline ends of Tuesday and then followed by the new e-KYC system replacing the old Aadhaar based verification.
