Why consuming durian fruit is important?

In countries like Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia we could come across durian fruit that is similar in appearance to the jackfruit. The point to be noted is the outer skin is dark green in colour and has got spikes. It is worth mentioning that durian is the fruit of many tree species belonging to genus ‘Durio’.

This durian fruit is loaded with many ingredients like proteins, carbohydrates, fibres and minerals like iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese etc. There are many vitamins present in durian fruit and these are vitamin A, B6, C, riboflavin, thiamine etc. Intake of this fruit provides us many health benefits.

Many these days have got BP or blood pressure. It is said that the presence of sulphur containing compounds like ethanethiol, disulphide derivatives in durian fruit could help in maintenance of BP. Persons who consumed this amazing fruit have stable levels of blood pressure.

Energy booster:

The carbohydrates present in durian fruit does superbly by providing high amounts of energy. The point is complex carbohydrates take time to digest and this fuels muscle contractions in us. Finally our body is provided with long lasting energy.

Helps in digestion:

The presence of fibre plays a huge role here.  The colon cells are kept healthy by the fibre that is used as a fuel. By adding bulk to the stools and by keeping bowel movements regular, our digestive health is maintained well.

This is also one important health benefit which we could get by the intake of durian fruit. The presence of folic acid and iron in the durian fruit help in the production of haemoglobin.
