Posted on: 30/Apr/2024 5:41:46 PM

Starting May 1st, 2024, Chennai Metro Rail Stations will implement updates to parking tariffs, aiming to prioritize space for metro commuters. Here are the key changes:

Monthly Pass Extension:
Monthly pass provision will now be extended exclusively to metro commuters who have made a minimum of 15 rides in the last 30 days. This applies to parking lots at six stations: Wimco Nagar Depot Metro, Sri Thiyagaraya College Metro, Nehru Park Metro, Koyambedu Metro, Ashok Nagar Metro, and Alandur Metro.

Monthly Pass Suspension:
Due to limited parking space, the monthly pass provision is suspended at four stations: New Washermenpet Metro, Nandanam Metro, Egmore Metro, and Shenoy Nagar Metro.

Hourly Parking Tariff Increase for Non-Commuters:
To address the rising demand from non-commuters, the hourly parking tariff for them has been raised at 18 stations. These stations include Thiruvotriyur Metro, Thiruvotiyur Theradi Metro, Kaladipet Metro, High Court Metro, Washermenpet Metro, Government Estate Metro, LIC Metro, Guindy Metro, Nanganallur Road Metro, Meenambakkam Metro, Thirumangalam Metro, Airport Metro, Mannadi Metro, New Washermenpet Metro, Nandanam Metro, Egmore Metro, Ashok Nagar Metro, and Alandur Metro.

Monthly Pass Tariff Increase for Non-Commuters:
Non-commuters, defined as those who have not used the metro or have less than 15 rides in the last 30 days, will experience an increase in monthly pass tariffs at Arumbakkam Metro and St. Thomas Mount Metro.

There are no changes in parking tariffs at the remaining stations. For more information, please visit the CMRL website at Chennaimetrorail.org/parking-tariff/.
