Fire breaks out in building in Sowcarpet

Sowcarpet in North Chennai is a crowded place in Chennai. Fire broke out in a multi-storeyed building located on a narrow street here. A 24-year-old man , Lokesh who was working for a perfume company functioning from the second and third floors of the building in Narayana Mudali Street at Sowcarpet died due to fire injuries
Even though 13 fire tenders were pressed into service, only one of them could enter the street as it was too narrow, they said.
Perfumes contained in glass containers were damaged and the dark smoke and smell of burning plastic proved a challenge to the fire service personnel who extinguished the blaze.
