In middle of January 2019 there would be final inspection of Chennai metro phase-1

The latest piece of news is in the middle of the month of January in 2019, the final inspection of the last stretch of Chennai metro phase-1 from AG-DMS to Washermanpet would be carried out.

According to the sources belonging to CMRL or Chennai Metro Rail Limited, it is now said that the final and mandatory safety inspection by the CMRS or Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety has been scheduled in the second week of January in 2019. The official spoke about how the documents have been submitted to the CMRS and how he would examine the documents fully. In case of any queries, clarification would be done by the department. The official further stated that once clarification is over the final inspection would be carried out.

One important point is the inspection by the commissioner is mandatory and he would inspect various parts of the metro stations, facilities available for the passengers etc. He would also decide on whether it is safe for the passengers to use the stretch. The working of the systems including signalling and telecommunications, alignment of track and tunnels connecting the stations etc would also be inspected by the commissioner of metro rail safety.

For the last 6 years, work on the Chennai Metro Rail has been going on and this metro rail network was constructed at a cost of Rs 14600 crores is known. The information gathered was the 10 km stretch from AG-DMS to Washermanpet would be the end of the project. The amazing piece of information is this stretch would be fully underground and would have stations like LIC, Thousand Lights, Government Estate, Mannady, High court and Washermanpet etc. People belonging to places like Washermanpet in north Chennai would be highly benefited by this stretch when it gets opened. People would be able to travel directly to Chennai airport from Washermanpet via Little Mount and Guindy. It is revealed that around 35 trains would run at a frequency of 5 minutes across the 45km network once when the stretch becomes operational. This CMRL is a joint venture between government of India and government of TN and is responsible for the operation of metro rail in Chennai is well known.
