Chembarambakkam water reservoir rises to 21.27 feet!

Over the last few days, the northeast monsoon rainy season has intensified and there have been widespread rains in the state of Tamil Nadu.

The rains have been copious, especially in some districts, including Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chingleput, and Thiruvallur and it has been raining heavily since last 3 days.

With this, the lakes in these areas have been filling up quite rapidly.  With the result of the copious rains and the subsequent inflow, the Chembarambakkam Lake has almost filled up to its capacity looking almost like a sea!

As on yesterday, the Chembarambakkam Lake had an inflow of 480 cubic feet per second. The height of the reservoir was 21.17 and the capacity, 2898 million cft.

In this scenario, the height of the Chembarambakkam Lake has risen to 21.27’ as on today (Wednesday, 18th November). The inflow of 480 cft per sec., now has risen to 505 cft per sec. The total capacity of the Chembarambakkam Lake is 2926 million cft.
