Tamil Nadu Election Commission Officer Sathyaparadha Sahu has informed that special camps are scheduled to be conducted for inclusion/deletion of voters’ names all over the state of Tamil Nadu on 21st & 22nd November and 12th & 13th December.
The general election for the Tamil |Nadu Legislative Assembly is scheduled to be conducted during March or the beginning of April. With only 5 months to go before the election, the Tamil Nadu Election Commission has undertaken the task of inclusion /deletion/correction in the voters’ list. Accordingly, there are prospects that the draft voters’ list is released in the month of January.
In this situation, Tamil Nadu Election Commission Officer Sathyaprasad Sahu conducted a meeting at the Chief Secretariat with all 9 approved political party representatives regarding the release of the draft voters’ list.
Tami Nadu Election Commission Officer shared the information that over the past 3 months, around 30000 with double entries (the same name appearing more than once in the voters’ list) have been removed. He confirmed that special camps will be conducted on 21st & 22nd November and 12th & 13th December for addition/deletion/correction in the voters’ list.
