CMRL work has eaten up Parking Space at Central!

Owing to the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) work, close to the Chennai Central Station, both parking and movement passage all around the Central has become terrific for commuters.
For the past few months, the ‘Premier Parking lot’ in the Central which can lodge nearly 70 cars have been closed by the CMRL work, hence cars picking and dropping passengers ought to squash into the regular car parking space which is always fully packed throughout the crest hours.
Because of the CMRL work, the passageway is getting lodged with four wheelers mainly during the peak hours in between 7am to 10am and from 6pm to 10pm daily, says Suresh, an auto driver functioning at the Central for many years.
Previously the premier parking lots aid people who are in a hurry to catch the train even at the last minute. Now the situation has turned upside down, cars have to impede in front of the station and passengers have to get down rapidly, he added.
As per the Railway official, annoyance confront in parking lot are not the solitary problem; also travel of commuters has become a tough task because of the CMRL work.
The wellbeing of the passengers passing over the outward space of the station and those jumping from their cars is very vital, said the official.
