Chennai Corporation in full swing works to remove illegal cable connection

Several steps are being taken to improve the overall quality of Chennai city. Among these steps is the removal of unauthorized cable wires in various parts of the city. There are cable connections that are supplied to the public without formal authorization. These are tangled with the electricity wires reaching houses.
Announcements were earlier made for these illegally functioning cable TV services to pay the appropriate amount and get their license by or before 18th. Despite these announcements, few cable TV operators and telecom operators disobeyed to obtain license.
Owing to this, the Chennai Corporation decided to remove such cable connections and the work is now in full swing. The removal operation took place in areas including Thandayarpetain, Royapuram, Anna Nagar, Teynampet Kodambakkam, Adyar, etc. Nearly 22 km long wires were disposed yesterday. The public are left troubled without being able to watch TV in these areas.
