Downpour chills down Chennai city

Rain showers chilled down the city and brought a sigh of relief, bringing power cuts though. However in most areas, drizzles replaced heavy rainfall. Southern regions however had considerable rainfall for hours. Adyar and its surrounding areas had heavy showers around 8 pm. Guindy and its surrounding parts had good amount of downpour too. There were one-off rains in parts of the city like Egmore, Vepery and Kilpauk. Tambaram had intermittent rainfall and there were power cuts across the area.
Thursday nights had good rainfall. Nungambakkam received 1.7 mm rainfall on Thursday night. There were slight rainfalls in Meenambakkam on the same day.
