Amma Pharmacies Infrastructures are all Set Ready to function across the State!

After the grand success of Amma Canteens, Amma Water and Amma Salt and now the infrastructure for Amma Pharmacies is all set ready to operate across Tamil Nadu to offer medicines at an affordable cost for the poor people.
Soon, the AIADMK government will divulge 100 Amma Marunthagam (low price medical shops) all over Tamil Nadu, a scheme that swears to secure more benevolence for chief minister J Jayalalitha.
Recapping her promise towards crafting a welfare state, these upcoming ‘Amma pharmacies’ will vend medicines at a subsidized cost.
Co-operative department has been putting their entire effort for the establishment of Amma Marunthagam nearly at 100 places all over Tamil Nadu. All the infrastructures are ready and staff recruitment is underway, a senior official said.
Of the total 100 shops, 10 shops will function in Chennai and the 90 shops in the remnants of the state, officials said. The state government had declared that Rs 20 Crores will be allocated from the price allotment fund for launching the Amma pharmacies.
The co-operative section is probable to enlist pharmacists via Medical Services Recruitment Board (MSRB).
Though Amma Pharmacies may not entirely satisfy the medical need of the people, but its low price may compel the private medical shop retailers to offer discounts.
Recently, the government has launched Amma salt with three varieties namely low sodium, double fortified and refined free flow iodized salt, which are cheaper than similar products in the market.
