Second Class Suburban Trip Commuters Feels Partial Relief – No Fare Revision for 80 KM

Posted on: 25/Jun/2014 11:18:46 AM
On Tuesday, the railway board has announced that there will be no rise in the second class suburban ticket fee for the 80 km slab in the projected ticket fare revision.

For the entire sector of the rail travel, the ticket fare alteration will come into play from 28 June.

Commuters, who travel under the slab of 80 km, might be feeling some relief out of the alterations in the estimated ticket fare revision.

Moreover, the verdict of the Railway Board not to collect disparity in ticket fee also fetches a respite for travelers who have previously bought their monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual season tickets where the season tickets validity extend further of 28  June.

Exemption Free for Season Tickets

According to the altered circular, the Ministry has resolute that  the second class monthly season tickets has now charged at 14.2% over the present rates for both suburban and non-suburban routes.

The choice to let off the second class suburban regular fares up to the slab of 80-km slab is in accord with the Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways, mentioned in the circular.

The modified ticket fees will be furnished in the Website of the Rates Directorate of the Railway Board on the Indian Railways.

The verdict to amend the fee structure pursues a depiction prepared by MPs from distinct States, said the railways sources.
