The recurring power cuts were been experienced by people across Tamil Nadu for the past two days. Except Chennai, the duration of the power cut stretches from two hours in rural areas and half an hour in urban areas.

The Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation (TANTRANSCO) Website clearly acknowledges the details of the power outages in the daily grid detail section.

On Thursday, the measure of load dropping was 932 megawatt (MW) in the morning and nearly 260 MW in the evening. Similarly on Friday morning, it was about 980 MW.

Since after the announcement of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on elating high-tension trade units and industrial establishments, the power outages has been back again. Also she mentioned that all limitations inflicted since November 2008 would be detached.

The planned low-tension load dripping also stands introverted, the Energy Department said in a statement to the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) and the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) on 29 May, 2014.

In the interim, Coimbatore district acknowledges half-an-hour to one hour power outage for the past two days. In Trichy, domestic users endured load shedding for half-an-hour to one hour on Friday.

Fortunately, there was no power cut during the night. In rural areas, power cut differs from half-an-hour to two hours, based upon the time.

For Chennai, there has been no power cut for grid ventures, the maintenance officials said.
