Cement prices on the rising trend: Constructions face problems!

As an unprecedented trend, the cement prices have been increasing every day like never before.
The price of cement during the 2nd week of June was Rs. 300/- per bag. (Source: All India Builders’ Association: Policy Centre) However, this did not stabilise. The cement price showed an increasing trend again. This week, it has touched Rs. 350/- per bag (as on 25th June).
If the trend of increasing price of cement is not brought under control, it may lead to builders raising their prices several times the original registered cost.
Both the private & public builders have been affected severely on the construction progress.
As a typical example, the Metro Rail Project where the project is under progress in the heart of the Chennai city will be severely affected.
The construction companies have appealed that the central government must take immediate steps to bring the cement price under control.
