Home Delivery of Medicines – Amma Pharmacy

Subsequent to inauguration of more than 10 ‘Amma Marunthagam’ shops across the state, officials are now in the proposal of bringing in deliver the medicines at home.
In Chennai, the Amma Marunthagam has been place only in Nanganallur. Since more number (nearly 70 to 10 )of senior citizens were approaching the outlet every day, the state cooperative department officials decided to facilitate the home delivery option.
Initially, the delivery of medicines at home will be limited only to the Nanganallur senior residents, later we will be expanding it to the neighboring areas, said the senior department officials.
The first phase of Amma Marunthagam was launched on 27 June, with an offer a about 10% discount. The Nanganallur Amma Pharmacy receives many customers from neighborhood areas like Medavakkam and Alandur. Most of the customers are significantly looking for Blood Pressure and Diabetics drugs.
These pharmacies got it attention because people are more curious and also the quality of the medicines available here, said the officials. These pharmacies will run from 9AM till 9PM every day.
Officials said that, they are facilitating the regular contact with the local vicinity doctors and load the pharmacy with frequently needed medicines.
Many senior citizens are happy with the affordable cost of the medicines in Amma Marunthagam.
In addition, 90 such pharmacies are likely to be set up all over the state, officials said.
