Residential plots will be available for all income groups

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, in a statement in the Assembly, said a modern, residential layout of 222 acres would be established at Kadambur village near Maraimalai Nagar (about 35 km south of Chennai). Residential plots will be available for all income groups.
Under the slum-free cities programme, over 10,000 apartments will be built by the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board in Chennai and other cities at a cost of 825 crore.
The Central Government will provide 50 per cent of the project cost, the State 40 per cent and the beneficiaries 10 per cent. The apartments will be of 400 sq ft with fans and lights.
